Do you celebrate Christmas in July? I am always amazed at how quickly the red and green decor hits the retail shelves during this second half of the year. If you really wanted to celebrate Christmas in July, I am sure you can head to your local store and pick up some decor right now. Can I get an amen?!? One of my favorite things about the holidays are the fun pieces of mail that fill my inbox. Here is a glimpse at what went out last year (yeah 7 months late- opps) from us!
We just moved in to our house last year, so we wanted to highlight that achievement while highlighting one of my favorite things: Baking!
We set up a little tripod in our kitchen and whipped up some cupcakes with green icing. It was a lot of fun (and a little messy) to create these cards, but turned out really great. I love being able to think outside of the box and do something a little different than the normal cards.
y’all are adorable!
We’ve had no good news to send in 2013 or 2014, so I’m holding out for 2015!
I love cards whenever they arrive – I think it is far more creative and realistic. I have heard of friends who have odd “are people judging me?” hang ups about cards (wow, people really have those?), and I think those people aren’t true friends.
This: “I am always amazed at how quickly the red and green decor hits the retail shelves during this second half of the year.” it is just awful, isn’t it? People focus on decorating and it’s so commercialized now. I mean, I LOVE a decorated house and all the festivities, but I always feel so guilty – it’s so materialistic, so whether you are a Christian and celebrate Jesus or a Wiccan and celebrate Solstice – none of us need a wreath for each door in our house and trees for each room, do we? We missed you at Convention! I think you were a Youth Summer Church camp, right? LITB.
Thanks Jen! Hate that I missed convention too, but the Youth Camp was so fun!
