101 in 1001: June 2013 Update

I am 32 “to-do’s” away from completing my 101 in 1001 list. I have a short 2 1/2 months to do all of these activities. Time to kick it in to high gear! Here are the things I accomplished in June 2013 (Well, I should say WE because Conner has been a HUGE help in helping this dream become a reality).

4.       Plan three surprise dates for Conner (3/3)

13.   Have a double-date with friends once every other month (8/16). Being in a new neighborhood comes with investing in the community around us. We have been so excited for the new friendships that are budding around us. Last month we took time to get brunch with some new friends. swim46.   Work out three times a week, four weeks in a row (4/4). I cannot believe this goal is complete! June rocked in the fitness department. Our goal was to work out at least 3 times a week, for 4 weeks straight. I can honestly say we worked out for 30 days straight. Who are we?!?! I think the keys to our success this past month has been the variety of the work outs we have done, the support of each other, realizing our purpose behind working out, and the weekly milestones we established for ourselves. While food “rewards” are a horrible idea, materialistic rewards worked well for us. Little things like get a new book, get a pedicure, or get a new pair of work out pants, helped us to stay motivated each week. The goal was 3 times working out, minimum….however if we went for 5/7 days of working out, that is when the “prize” came in to play. Luckily, that was enough incentive to keep us going for 30 days, and now we are on to our next milestone- 60 days and continue to work out while traveling.

Here’s to July!
